A new research initiative focusing on the potential of traditional medicine was officially launched at Jigjiga SHAHID HOTEL.
This collaborative effort has been organized by AHRI and brings together the Federal Ministry of Health, the Regional Health Bureau, Jigjiga University and the University of Kebridahar, community elders-Ugaas, and other think tank organizations in the Somali regional state. The project will concentrate on studying indigenous knowledge related to traditional medicine, documenting various medicinal plants used for treating different illnesses, and verifying their effectiveness through modern research methods.
The research is expected to contribute significantly to the regional and national efforts to preserve endogenous knowledge while improving public health outcomes through scientifically validated practices.
As a SAHAN DEVELOPMENT, We are proud to participate on this important initial workshop and we will actively participate in the regional research and development activities.
